Say It Loudly

Josh has yet to learn and master his indoor voice. He has quite a loud voice and sometimes it really booms.

I have to constantly, constantly remind him to use his "indoor voice," to speak more softly. When they turned the lights down in the plane, Josh was asking why they did that --in his usual loud voice and I was trying to tell him to use his "indoor voice" so that he didn't disturb the other passengers. I then dug around and pulled out one of the activity books that I'd bought at the airport. It was one with the modelling clay. When he saw it, he very loudly announced, "Oh, I love this one. I love arts and crafts. This is the best. Mommy!" I was trying to shush him when he added, "You're the best, Mommy!" in the same loud voice.

Now that is something I didn't mind him broadcasting to everyone.

Hahaha...that's awesome! My daughter can be quite loud...and loves to sing. Once she starts singing, there is very little you can do except wait for the song to end.

Ummm, what are you giving this kid to make him so sweet!

Also, when you learn to teach Josh his indoor voice can you tell me how? B still forgets his indoor voice. I have to say "B, when I whisper its because i don't want everyone else to hear. Please whisper back. Do not repeat what I said in your outside voice."

I love when they finally say something loud that you don't mind. It makes all the other comments easier to tolerate!

I know about the loud voice. I had Lael's hearing checked out because she is THAT loud. They say it's fine she just loves to hear herself. Cute story! Cute kids!

My 4 year old doesn't have an inside voice either. We're constantly working on it- especially during our library visits. I was humiliated the day he had an accident in his pants and came out and announced to his brother (and everyone else in the childrens section) that there was just a little bit on his pants still... yikes.
