Seen in Hong Kong #2 : Victoria Harbour

View - Peak
View from The Peak.

The buildings in the foreground are part of Hong Kong Island. You'll see the famous Bank of China Tower, the International Finance Centre (IFC), Central Plaza, and other commercial and residential buildings --from Central (on the left) all the way to North Point and beyond. Across the water is Kowloon.

On clear days, The Peak is one of the best spots in Hong Kong to get stunning shots of Hong Kong and Victoria Harbour. When we have guests from overseas, we usually take them up to The Peak. It's almost a must-go-to destination for first-time visitors --for sightseeing, shopping, dining. This photo was taken on one such day, when we were taking one of Chris’ overseas colleagues for a look-see around Hong Kong.

Have you been to Hong Kong? What do you like best about the place?

Yes, my husband & I were in Hong Kong in the 90's for a week as part of a month long working trip through Asia for a relief and development agency - World Vision. We visited the Philippians and Indonesia (loved Bali) and spent the last week in Hong Kong.

We were mesmerized by the sounds, colors, lights, crowds and the shopping (oh the shopping!). My husband thought it felt like Las Vegas at night. We stayed mostly in Kowloon.

I was amazed at the crowds of people, all walking in different directions but no one bumping into eachother. There was a rhythm to it and you just had to join in.

Also, landing at the airport is quite an experience. I got the sense we were going right into the water!

Great place. Love your pics, interesting in blk and wh.

I've never been, but so wish we could have gone. Unfortunately, the Tongginator wouldn't have been able to handle the "touring" and extra travel during our adoption trip. Shamian Island in Guangzhou was pretty, though. :)

Oh my goodness...now that, that is gorgeous. I want to go to HONG KONG! I actually may have an opportunity one day as our company has business in both Dubai and Singapore - so who knows. I'd love to see it though! Thanks for sharing.
