I ♥ Faces – Week 35 : Back-to-School

Last week was one crazy week. Josh started K3 and he is now a “senior” in his school. Next year, he will be starting first grade. How time flies.

And Zoë? My baby started Nursery. For quite some time now, she has been pretty psyched about being a “big girl” and going to school, “just like KoKo.” We would bring her along sometimes when we drop off Josh at school and she would walk right into the classroom with him and make herself comfortable. We’d had to bribe her to get her to leave. So I was not as nervous about her starting school, even though she is younger than Josh was when he first started going in unaccompanied for three hours every morning.

On the first day of school, Chris drove Josh to his school, while I rode on the school bus with Zoë to her school. Upon arrival, the teacher led her off the bus and into the school. My little girl never once looked back to even wave bye-bye to me. I didn’t know whether to laugh or to cry. I went around the back to peek through the window into her classroom. There she was, sitting with the other children for Circle Time. When she came home, I asked her if she cried. She said yes, "'cos want Mommy." She was smiling broadly when she said that though, so I knew she was okay.

I believe that Zoë’s transition to school was so much easier mainly because of Josh. She has seen her older brother go to school, ride on the bus, and for the longest time, she has wanted to do the same… and now she is! It also helps that Josh is such a great big brother and readily takes her under his wing.

Back-To-School Entry:

Josh and Zoe

Here is the Just-for-Fun Collage Entry:

First Day of School - Collage

You’ll see the Zoë has two different uniforms. She wears the pink dress on Mon-Wed-Fri and the white shirt / blue shorts on Tue and Thu. Josh just has to wear his red vest over whatever he fancies to wear to school.

Do head on over to I ♥ Faces for other back-to-school pics and collages.

It's been a while since I stopped by and your kids just keep getting cuter and cuter!

I know I'll be the one in tears on my daughters first day of school and more than likely she will react just as yours did, without a second thought of her mommy!
