Zoë Tales # 4

I hope you guys are not suffering from Zoë-overload, because I have more pictures and tales of this wonderfully sweet, funny darling of a little girl.

DSC04088

In the place where we store our bathroom tissue rolls, there is a mirrored wall. Once, when Zoë was playing around there, there was only one roll left, but because of the reflection in the mirror, she saw two. She took the roll out, put it back in, took it out again. She had this puzzled look on her face. She then asked, “Why there are two there? I take this out and there’s no more? See?”

It still surprises me sometimes the things that these little ones notice and that we take for granted. I just love how her curious little mind works.

Zoë’s class is doing a little “performance” tomorrow and here she is showing off her bit.

Zoë gets a sticker or two from her teacher if she has been particularly good in school –helpful, could answer questions correctly, tidies up, etc.  When I found out why she would occasionally come home proudly showing me the stickers on the backs of her hands, I finally understood the real reason why she gets really upset if she loses one or if it comes off when she washes her hands.

Both Josh and Zoë have now taken to giving each other (and us!) stickers on the shirts or on the backs of hands if they felt we’d done a “good job”! That’s why you’d hear Josh announcing that he was going to give Zoë a sticker for her rendition of I’m a Little Teapot. The lei that he gave Zoë is the “medal” that they give each other whenever one wins any pretend contest or race. Every time I see them being sweet and playing with each other, I am ever so thankful that we did not stop at just one child.

This made my day! Seriously! If you only knew....but seeing and hearing Zoe's song and of course, her bowing and saying thank you and then Josh presenting her with her medal...beyond precious. I'm so glad that you didn't stop at just one either.

Keep those photos coming! So sweet to explore the world through the eyes of a child. I do it everyday with mine and never tire of it. Stickers are a great reward system, I'm hoping to use that when mine is a bit older.

Awww, thank you! (Whew!) Truth be told, I don't think I could stop posting about Zoë even if all of you would stage a sit-in in front of our place.

I don't really see how a person could overload on images, videos and stories of that sweet girl and her brother. Come ON! That was the cutest little teapot performance I've ever seen (next to my daughter's of course..ha ha). R is almost 4 and she is still handing out the stickers for good behavior too. Sometimes I get one for being her 'bestest mommy in the whole world'. These are the fun ages for sure!

I have three daughters. If I had had a fourth, her name would have been Zoe. :)
