One year ago, I didn’t even know what a blog was, let alone know that blogoversary is a word. Even though I had always loved to write, I had long since given up writing in a journal; in the misguided wisdom of youth, I’d deemed it too juvenile.
When I became a mother for the first time, though, the itch to write came back with a vengeance. I love taking photos, but photographs could capture only so much. I needed to put words on a page. To help me see beyond the smiles of a new mother and her baby. To help me remember the stories. To help me remember specific details of what made me smile, what made me tear up, what filled me with guilt, what made me want to shout my thanks to the heavens for the wonderful blessing of motherhood. To help me celebrate Josh and Zoë.
Since starting this blog, it’s been a year of almost-daily posts, hundreds of photos, new friends made, horizons broadened. What a wonderful community of friends you all have been.
I have decided to celebrate my blogoversary with a giveaway to say thank you to all of you for your thoughtful, beautiful, and sometimes funny and wry comments and for the wonderful reads your posts have provided, for the smiles and the chuckles, and for the times you made me burst out laughing. Most of all, thank you for allowing me to celebrate Josh and Zoë and for celebrating along with me.
