A farm in the city, less than half an hour away from us. If someone had told me that, I probably would not have believed it. But Josh and Zoë had a play date at a farm/nursery yesterday and it was heaps of fun for all of us –yep, me included! It was such a treat, I tell you.
Josh and Zoë got to pull out carrots…
My friend teaching Zoë how to properly pull out the carrots.
Yay, she got one!
Superheroes eat broccoli.
Rows of marigolds and snapdragons.
Isn’t this camellia lovely? The petals are the softest, purest white… (Yes, it’s from the farm, too.)
There were fish ponds, love birds, three peacocks, pheasants, dogs, guinea fowls…
Feathers from guinea fowls
And there were bunnies, too. The kids got to feed the carrot tops to the bunnies.
It was such a wonderful afternoon. The weather was great and we were outdoors. The kids got to do and see things they don’t get to see or do every day. We also came home with heads of cauliflower, broccoli, the carrots that the kids pulled out, some potatoes, lettuce, a big bunch of marigolds and snapdragons, not to mention wonderful memories of a great time with D and his family.

That's awesome! I know when I was growing up in the city I absolutely devoured any time spent in any kind of farm or other natural environment. It's just a natural need to know nature.
I think that is so awesome that you got to a farm with your little ones...they are so adorable!
Looks like a fun time. A great learning experience for the kids too.
拔萝卜, 拔萝卜, 嘿哟嘿哟, 拔萝卜
小姑娘, 快快来, 快来 帮我们 拔萝卜
Okay, so, I totally hope you know that song. Otherwise this comment is absolutely pointless.
Beautiful pics. I can't wait for it to warm up around here. Oh and guess what got delivered today? My bouncy chair! Bubby will love it when he arrives! :)

It looks like it was so much fun! The two superheroes looked so very thrilled with their broccoli. I would love to live on a farm!
I love the look on Josh's face as he watches his friend eat the broccoli!! Looks like you all had such a fun time! Zoe's carrot is almost as big as she is!!

Those guinea fowl feathers are so pretty! I want a guinea fowl headband!
Looks like a fantastic day. That carrot is almost as big as Zoe!
How cool is that, a farm in the city. I never knew or even heard that HK has a farm. I wish San Francisco has one. I'd love to take my two little ones to pick fresh vegies and flowers. Actually I tried growing my own vegie garden. Total Failure!
Hi, I'm one of your HK readers and would love to know where this farm is. My daughter will be beside herself if she could do this!!
Thanks
The carrots are huge!!!
@Anonymous: The 'farm' is one of the several nurseries in Shouson Hill. I would usually give more directions and info here or include a link at least, but unfortunately, the farm we visited is not open to the public. Send me an email at buckeroomama@gmail.com, if you want me to email you a list of other farms (some with petting zoos) that are open to the public.
Awesome pics!!! And I am so happy to see my little profile pic on your GFC!!! YAY!!!!!!!!
Makes me wish for summer. Those are some big carrots...did you make anything with your crop?
Those carrots are HUGE. Your kids are so so cute. Love that sweater Zoe is wearing. Your perspective in the bunny shot is rocking!
It's great you and the kids got to spend a wonderful day down on the farm. As usual your pics are awesome!
Enjoy your day and have a blessed fun filled weekend dear one!!!
Those carrots appear to be for giant-sized people...Nice. Bunnies, flowers and adorable children...now that's my kind of post! Hope your weekend (which of course is already in full swing where you are) is great.

(i love how you focused right in on the feathers and flower...beautiful)
Such a European garden! LOL My in-laws taught me a new term when I visited them over Christmas. Apparently, that broccoli up there isn't just broccoli....it's "gwai louh gai lan". HAHAHAHAHA
What a Fun experience! I wish I could take my kids there! Great photos!! Have a great weekend! I am laughing b/c I recently posted a 'winter' adventure our family took - ice skating - life is cold where we are! Blessings!
