What Lies Ahead

I am not exactly sure why, but I am really looking forward to this coming year.
There will be surprises, I am sure. Good ones, I hope. There are plenty of unknowns. But really, 2010? BRING IT ON!

1) Josh will be starting primary school this year. Which school? We still don’t know. There is another school interview scheduled around the middle of this month. This interview is with the school at the top of our very short list. Although I am in no doubt that Josh more than meets all the academic requirements, I can never be sure of anything with regard to how applications are screened and evaluated. All I can do is hope and pray that everything will go smoothly and that he will get accepted to this school.

2) I will be turning 40, about which I am really excited --for some odd reason that I can’t explain.

3) My in-laws will be celebrating 50 years of blessed togetherness. We will all be flying back for their Golden Wedding Anniversary and as always, we look forward to getting together with Chris’ brothers and sisters and their families. We are excited about getting all the little cousins together again. I believe this coming summer promises to be even more fun that last year’s.

Those are essentially the three major ‘events’ for our family in 2010. I also look forward to more fun (and funny!) moments with Josh and Zoë, to more de-cluttering, to more self-control and discipline when it comes to a healthier lifestyle. I look forward to productiveness, to a more “zen” outlook.

What do you look forward to in 2010?

Those are some good goals (and quite attainable too). Me? Where do I start? I want to read - maybe a little less computer time (yeah, right)and more reading time. I want to feel I have some control over this ridiculously fancy camera I have and learn Lightroom and PS Elements. Right now they are like white elephants in my computer. Get in better shape and de-clutter/organize my house. For starters. (Actually I'd be thrilled to accomplish these.)

Wait...nowhere did I see you mention that you were going to come out to California to visit your sister???? (ahem...moi?) :)

Those are great goals to look forward to. When will you know whether Josh has been accepted into one of the schools or all of them?

I want to challenge myself to listen more and learn more and leap first and not allow fear to get in the way.

Those sound like great events. I'm looking forward to Caitlin starting Kindergarten this year too and all the little milestones the kids will reach. Hopefully potty training Davey soon.

Wow! 40 this year. Feels like I just had my 40th birthday and this year I'm looking at 49 but with a much better attitude and hopefully, with a more fit body!

It sounds like you have a lot to look forward to this year! I turned 40 last April and I expected to feel differently but it felt just like any other birthday, thankfully!

My hubby bought me a new laptop and it already has Windows Live on it and you are SOOOO right about how awesome it is!!!

Those are 3 great things for 2010 and things to look forward to. I've been too busy cleaning up messy messes as of late so haven't had a chance to give much thought to what I am looking forward to. That will come soon I hope! :)
