Zoë Tales # 7

Bedtime-delaying tactics. Zoë’s.

I need something to drink. I need water, Mommy.
I need something to cuddle and hug. Please get me Panda /Owl / Lulu / Dolly….
I need to go wee-wee.
What’s that sound, Mommy? Did you hear that?
Why did the chicken cross the road? Because it wants to go (to) other side of (the) road! / Why did the banana go to the doctor? Because it was not “peeling” well! Get it, Mommy? (I kid you not!!) --at which point, Josh would call out, “Cut it out! I’m trying to sleep here.”

We always make sure that both Josh and Zoë go to the washroom before they go to bed, so you can understand why I’d thought it was one of Zoë’s delaying tactics when, minutes after lights out last night, Zoë said that she needed to go wee-wee.

Not wanting to risk finding out later that she actually needed to, I took her to the washroom. She sat there happily, smiling at me. I was getting impatient.
Me: Zoë, I don’t hear anything.
(Then, a soft release of air… pfff, followed by trickling.)
Zoë: Now, do you hear something, Mommy? (said with a sweet smile on her face)
I couldn’t help but laugh out loud. She does this to me every time!!

Zoë was eating some dragon fruit. One of its many small black seeds got stuck to her chin.

I pulled her over and plucked the seed off her chin.
Me: Zoë, look, your mole came off!
Zoë touched her chin and then a look of alarm crossed her face.
Zoë: Put it back, Mommy! Put the mole back!

Your Zoe is really something else. Her little personality just amazes me.

And good for you for remembering every detail. I keep trying to - I need to write them down as they happen.

Stumbled onto your blog from Jana's... and didn't realize you were involved with Baby Sign - way cool (I'm a profoundly deaf mom of a little miracle boy who speaks and signs from his earliest days :)

Nice to "meet" you.

And yes - that little miracle boy knows all the same tricks your diva does! It's a conspiracy!

She tells a better joke than the Tongginator! Who is years older! You've got one smart comedian on your hands.
