We spent the afternoon making Valentine cards. Josh is supposed to bring one to school tomorrow. We figured since there are only five students in the class (including himself), we would make one for each of his classmates.
While he did his Phonics homework, I cut out paper hearts. Why did I ever think that that would be a piece of cake – cutting out paper hearts, that is? Josh finished all five pages of his homework (for CNY holidays next week) way before I could finish cutting out a sheet of paper hearts.
We decided to do a tic-tac-toe theme, seeing as how Josh loves to play that. Plus, it’s easy (after the million red hearts have been cut out).
The inside of the card simply says Happy Valentine’s Day! We used leftover glitter glue and card paper from when we made Christmas cards. If I had used pieces of yarn to make the grid, it probably would’ve been neater and nicer, but I didn’t have yarn. So glitter glue it was. I’m resourceful like that.
I’m glad that Josh is still okay with saying I love you to his friends –boy or girl.

What a cute idea. I love the tic tac toe idea.
Happy Valentines Day to you and your famiglia.
I like it!
Only five students? Have you posted about what kind of school he goes to? It would be interesting to know and to learn the pros and cons.
I think it looks perfect the way it is!!
I used to love getting Valentines Day cards at school!
I love that Josh helped with the cards too. You did a great job and I would've done the glitter glue too.
LOVE your blog! Added it to my "favorites".

We did Valentine Day cards for E's class too. Ours, however, were fun-dipped themed and all she did was write their name. :)
That's how I roll.
His cards are so cute. I love the handmade cards too but my kids opted for the candy cards this year to give to their class. Good thing b/c they have 20+ kids in each of their classrooms. I did make something cute for my youngest classmates - he only has 8.
That is so sweet and fun. Oh the memories of making valentines...:) Oh I have sure missed visiting you here. It is my goal to catch up here this weekend but I just wanted to stop by and say hello and that I think of you and your beautiful family. XX Lori
