Our Little Playground

Where we live we have a little playground downstairs where all the children play. Zoë and Josh would normally play there after they wake up from their afternoon naps. They bike, ride their scooter, play What Time Is It, Mr. Wolf? and generally just have fun with the other children.

I love that the playground is outdoors. It does get a bit chilly sometimes with the wind blowing in from the sea, but that just means putting on a light jacket on the kiddos and they’ll be good to go.

When I go down to the playground with them, I used to think that I could bring a book and read while they play. Silly me. What was I thinking? Now I bring my camera instead.

Zoë’s singing some song she made up on the spot here. She spontaneously bursts out in song whenever she feels like it. That’s Zoë for you.

One other thing I love about our playground is that I don’t have to worry about cars. It is not on street level and the only cars I ever saw that could get on were wedding cars (by special permission) and ambulances (for emergencies). So the children can all run about freely on this huge open space without me worrying that they might run into the street while chasing after a ball.

While there is a small patch of green on one side, I do wish we have a bigger grassy area. BUT having said that, I’m really glad that we have quick, easy access to this playground. Josh and Zoë are here almost every day (when they don’t have any scheduled afternoon activity) and they never tire of it.

I’ve been playing around with Photoshop and the Actions function in it… What do you think of the processing of these photos? You like? No? Suggestions? I’ll probably be experimenting a lot more with different edits. It’s loads of fun!

I love the new look of your photos! I almost asked if you have a new camera! But really, I love the color and how crisp they seem to be...but besides that you're also a good photographer :D

I love taking Peanut to the playground outdoors. It's just started getting kind of nice, again. Chilly, but good enough to hit the swings!!

Ah, playground photos...one of my favorite things...as my blog will attest to. Looks like you went for shades of grey and pink there? Personally, I like it. Those beautiful children are so photogenic though...they always look great.

It's good that the playground is not on street level. I don't take my kids to playgrounds that are right near busy streets with little safety guard.

So you experimenting with Photoshop? Looking good. I have yet to try. Keep up with the good work!

I love the look of your photos! Kinda antique like. It's nice to have a playground NOT by a street.

that playground is awesome! i always WISH i could just sit and enjoy the outdoors when we're at the park and it's beautiful outside...but i know i'll have plenty of time for that when my kids don't want to play with me anymore...so i try to play instead.... :)

What a great playground! You always have the most amazing pics.

They just removed the kids's merry go round at our playground. We hadn't been there in so long because of the weather that my daughter didn't notice thank goodness. It was one of her fave things last summer.

I really like the earthy color tones here. And such a great outdoor space and good playground environment for the children.

I think the third pic is my favorite! She is so cute I can't stand it!! Love all the pics -- isn't Photoshop fun?? I can really get carried away with all the actions :) Do you have some favorites? I think the first ones I ever downloaded were the PW ones and I could have played with those all day!

it's a godsend to have a playground so close, esp when the kiddies are still little. i really like the processing you used, the tones are just perfect. sometimes i wonder if you can go wrong with ps...i have never used it.

Take your time to explore!

Oh, I love your playground!!!

I don't know how to Photoshop (yet) but I do adore picnik.com on the Web; it makes me feel like an art director. Have fun with your photos :)
