Hearing your children say “I love you” is one of life’s sweetest and most heartwarming moments. But you know what ranks way up there with that, alongside spontaneous hugs and kisses? It’s when you know they know that you love them.
When they somehow let you know that they know how much you love them, –and not necessarily because of something you’ve done that they are thankful for, but just because, –it almost feels like you’ve, um, “done something right.” That’s kinda how I feel.
I was having one of those playful moments with Zoë. She was going on and on with “I love bananas. I love grapes. I love blueberries and strawberries…” I turned to her and asked, “Do you know what I love?” She turned her pretty little head and looked up at me and nodded with a smile.
Me: “Okay, tell me what I love.”
Zoë: Me. (She pointed her short little finger at herself and she had this really sweet shy smile on her face.)
I just burst out laughing. In sheer joy and delight. At the pureness, the belief. Made me want to scoop her up and rain kisses on her sweet cheeks and tell her, “Yes, I love you. SO much.” And I did just that.

oHHH... so sweet! you must be snowing candies when you heard her words!
Isn't that just the sweetest love of all when your child says 'I love you'? I absolutely love it when I hear my kids say it. Then I would tease them back and ask 'how much?'. My two eldest would reply 'alot' but my little toddler always says 'very much'.
