Sweet Graffiti (and a Sweet Surprise)

Josh and Zoë had a fun time writing on this glass panel at the new Amazing Asian Animals section at Ocean Park. (See other sections here, here, and here.) He wrote “I ♥ …” on whatever available surface he could find… There was I ♥ Mom, I ♥ Dad, I ♥ Zoë, I ♥ PoPo, I ♥ KungKung, I ♥ YaYa, and Mom Loves Zoë.

Zoë surprised us by writing Z-O- all by herself! After she wrote the first two letters of her name, she cried out, “Help me make E; I don’t know how!” The she proceeded to write down her name a couple more times, each time asking for help only when it came to writing the “ë.”

It’s actually been a week of surprises with this little girl. The other night, she surprised us by spelling Josh’s name on her own. We were playing pretend princess and I asked what the name of the princess’ brother is. I was expecting her to just say Josh when she proceeded with “J-o-s-h-u-a!” And she’s not even 3 yet. The really surprising bit was that she spelled Josh’s full name, instead of just J-o-s-h, which is what we have in wooden letters on their closet door.

It’s amazing how fast the second child picks up and learns things simply by being around an older sibling.

I love how smart they both are! The letter Z is really hard to write and she did it beautifully!

She's learning so much from Josh! I adore hearing about them.

WOW! They're incredibly clever, both of them!! I can't even get my (almost 5 yr old) to get past the first letter of his name...and that's still in block letters!

Shorts?!?! ...must be nice. :)

I love that Zoe can write 2 of the letters in her name but that means she's 3/4 done with it.

Absolutely! I see it all the time with my grandkiddos who are homeschooled. It blew me away when the two year old started spoutin' Latin phrases to me. Your kids are more that precious.

May God bless your day!!!
