A little background first: Zoë turns 3 next week. We’ve been telling her that she’s going to be a big girl when she turns 3. She always gets praises for doing big girl things like putting on her own socks and shoes, taking a bath by herself, writing her own name, etc. Being a big girl is a big thing with her.
Chris had been trying to find new songs on the Web and one of the songs that he was listening to the last few weeks was Big Girls (You Are Beautiful) by Mika. On one of those occasions when he had the song on and he was singing along to it, Zoë was on his lap. Chris felt Zoë lean in to him and give him a hug. He thought it was really sweet of Zoë. Then he felt Zoë hug and snuggle against him again… and again. He then noticed that each time Zoë would lean in to nuzzle and hug him was when he was singing the line “Big girls, you are beautiful…”
She’d thought that he was singing about her! Why yes, sweetie, you are our big girl and you are beautiful!

ugh, she is SOOO beautiful, and so sweet. Most little girls I know arent big cuddlers, I love Zoe for the fact that she looks snuggly and cute and then she totally is!
My daughter will be turning 5 next week. Her birthday falls on tax day in the U.S., April 15th. Like Zoe, my daughter feels so proud when we praise her for doing "big girls" things like washing her hands before she eats and taking her finished plate to the sink.
