Thanks to God
It’s the day of God, the day of the Lord. The day of God and Jesus, in the name of the LordAs we pray to the Spirit. Thanks to God for the Lord and the Sun [sic] of the FatherIn the name to God. In the big SpiritFor the day in the big earth. As it is hevin [sic].Thanks to God for Earth and the day. Thanks to God for the Day.Clost [sic] your eyes and pray.
I was looking up the lyrics to The Jubilee Song and when I found them, I was singing the song. Josh and ZoĆ« were around and they somehow took a liking to the music. They had me sing it again and again… and again. Even after bedtime prayers, they asked to us to sing it again, singing along to the parts that they’ve managed to pick up.
This morning, Chris decided to play the song on the computer and Josh was singing along. After a few repeats of the song, Josh suddenly asked to have a piece of paper. He announced that he was going to write his own song. He was even singing the tune as he worked along.
Josh has been in a writing mood lately. He would make his own books by stapling together pieces of paper and then he’d start drawing and writing. He’d recently written a Star Wars book, complete with dialogues. I’d have to scan it and post it sometime. His reading and writing have improved so much. We now step in only when he asks for spelling help, encouraging him to sound out the words to get to the spelling. Josh spelled out all the words in his song above, with the exception of earth, Jesus, thanks, and eyes.
Beyond my joy that Josh is taking such an interest in writing, I am very proud of his song today and of his choice of lyrics. What a perfect Easter project. And it was all his own initiative. Thank you, God, for this wonderful boy.

Beautiful!!
Ok, now I have to do a post on Ming Wai's story about Jesus. It's...not as liturgically correct. (Why does Jesus always end up being the Lord of the Cupboard?!)
This is wonderful :)

THis is soooo sweet! What a wonderful song, and you do have such a wonderful boy! Happy Easter to you and your lovely family!
What a wonderful thing for him to write about!
That is so incredibly precious! What a wonderful treasure!
Oh that's so wonderful that he's taking up writing. I hope he keeps it up! My 8 year-old likes to paint and draw all the time and I am trying to get her into more writing than drawing. I know I can't force that upon her so I'm doing it ever so subtly like telling her to write what she's just drawn. It works...sometimes
This is beautiful and oh so sweet!! :)
