A Patch of Green

I always complain that there is not enough “green” in Hong Kong. Even at the parks where there are some grassy areas, you’d see signs asking not to step on the grass. I guess the grass there was only for visual aesthetics.

We recently “discovered” this little patch of green downstairs from where we live. It used to be a flower bed or something and hardly anybody would ever go there, except for the cleaning ladies. Now, they’ve re-landscaped the area and we have that extra grassy patch for the kids to play in. It’s kinda tucked away and not too many people have discovered it yet. In the mornings, there’d be one or two people doing tai chi, but hardly any of the children ever play here.

It even has some small trees that the children can climb. Although I highly doubt that that’s the reason those trees were planted there.

Now, that’s where I’m going to do their Easter egg hunt next year. Yeah, I’m planning ahead.

Have a happy weekend!

There is just something about grass! The smell after it's just been mowed, the slight tickle to bared feet, the green of it! I'm glad that you found a lovely patch of it for your sweeties to play on. Lovely pictures!

yes, it's easy to take our grass for granted, especially when it takes over an hour to mow it all! So glad you have found a nice little patch of green for the kids to enjoy :)

My kids school here in California had trees the kids could climb. There's something about a tree...

Did Zoe climb on that tiny tree herself? She is such a daring little girl :) We have grass everywhere here in San Francisco. My sister-in- law is allergic to grass. Unbelievable! She doesn't like coming over to my house often cos I live near the park.

Happy Mother's Day!

I love grass but I'm also allergic to it so as far as being able to roll around in it and sit in it, that, I can't do. But I love that it's there for the kids to have fun and run around (and hunt for eggs).

Cute pictures.

Ohh my gossh those are sooo cute! Glad you've got some grass :)

We have lots of it here, but it goes not so nice brown colour in summer :(

But right now it's as green as ever :)

Hope you are having a lovely week.

Wow, it does look really green! I love how Josh looks sweaty in some of his pictures. That's how my 7 yr old son looks when he plays!
