There is a fast food joint in a couple of food courts around Hong Kong called
Curry-in-a-Hurry. I’ve never tried it myself, but Chris would always check it out and would almost always succumb and get some roti canai (click
here for the Wiki). This is what he had the other night –
Double Happiness. Double Happiness, presumably because you get two pieces of roti canai plus two servings of Indian chicken curry.
Apparently the way to eat roti canai is with your hands, although Chris’ order came with utensils. You tear off pieces of the roti with your hands…
Then you use it to dip into the curry.
Me? I don’t like it as much as Chris does. So, while he was having that, I was enjoying my Thai green curry chicken with rice and
tom yum goog soup from the shop next to Curry-in-a-Hurry, called Moment Thai (I love this name!*). Have I mentioned that I love Thai food –even from a fast food joint?
*Kudos to whomever cooked up this clever name.
Moment Thai sounds like 無問題 in Cantonese, which means “No problem.” People here say it a lot.

I'd love to say "yum" but the ubiquitousness of it in Britain has made me hate it. Alas. Nice photos, though!
I like some curry, though not all A friend of mine spent several years in India, and unfortunately had no desire at the time to learn how to make such deliciousness. I'm slightly bitter. Now she's married and is wishing she would have paid more attention. ;) I think it's cool you actually have fast food Thai, no such thing here!
Sounds and looks yummy. I don't get to eat things like this very often but when I do, I sure enjoy it. :)
It all looks yummy. Thai and Indian are right at the top for me!
Can I just say that now you have me craving thai green curry! Yumm! I like Indian curry, but not as much as Thai curry! So jealous right now LOL
I think I'm with you on the curry - I would take good Thai food any day!! (maybe I need to introduce my little guy to Thai on our date day tomorrow)
You know, if you didn't mention it, I would not of caught on that "moment Thai sounds like 無問題 in Cantonese". LOL! The phonic does sound so identical. I have a few frozen bags of roti at home. I fry them in a bit of oil and poof, they puff so nicely.
I'm not a curry fan, but that does look really good!
Very interesting, I never knew before.
Greetings from Germany
Liebe Grüße, Petra
That looks sensational! We are going to be in Hong Kong in December so I am going to start taking notes of all these places you recommend!
Best wishes for a great week,
Natasha.
My stomach just leapt inside of me seeing the roti and the curries!!! I am Indian and you know what that means!!
Is there a burger joint around there? :)
These are great photos, but I'm not a fan of curry. I'm with Lindy...is there a burger joint near by?
Oooooooh, I LOVE curry! Hot curry!
This looks so good! I am such a curry and roti fan!

I love learning about new foods and things like this. Thanks for the great explanation!

Very interesting. But today I have a tummy that's a bit nervy. I love your pictures, but the effect was not so great.
Got to come to Singapore or Malaysia for your roti and curry...
When are you coming for some real Thai food in Bangkok? My treat ;-)
Lord woman... you made me hungry in 2 seconds flat with those pictures and commentary of Thai food! (Don't laugh, I very nearly had my baby shower at my favorite Thai restaurant... they know my order before I open my mouth :)
Now I'll have to figure out how to convince Mr. Daddy that we desperately need something that is conveniently located nearby :)
Yummy Yummy!!!
Ok, I totally didn't get the "mouh mahntaai" until you mentioned it. Too funny!!
