Zoë flipped through the little booklet that came with my face paint kit and decided that she wanted an eye mask in purple and pink. Her wish was my command. She wanted some glitters. She got glitters. She was pretty pleased with herself after she checked herself out in the mirror.
She was eager to show off her mask to her friends, so our helper took her downstairs to play while I do up Josh.
Josh wanted to be a superhero, but he did not like any of the ones pictured on the booklet. He asked to me to make one up… and he wanted a green face. He has a thing about having a green face (see here). I think I turned him into a villain more than a superhero.
BUT, like Zoë, he was really stoked. He started brandishing his sword about, making fierce-like faces. Then Zoë came home and took one look at Josh and cried, “I want to be a superhero!”
*Slaps head* This has been happening a lot of late. Whatever Josh has, whatever Josh does, she has to have, she has to do. No matter if it doesn’t make sense for her to have the same or for her to do the same thing. So now that she has it in her pretty little head that she wants to be a superhero just like Josh, I will have to deliver or I’ll never hear the end of it. I promised that I’ll make her into a superhero tomorrow. I’ve learned to pick my battles.

My daughter was always a super hero. Turned out to have a lot to do with her spirit. I concur, this is one whim to support:).
Good idea. Super hero tomorrow and then hope and pray that Josh chooses to be a superhero tomorrow as well.
Maybe Josh should always go first? :)
Haha, I'm sure they had a blast with their painted faces! I know I always did!
you did an amazing job on the face painting! And my kids do the same thing about changing their minds because one of them wanted something else!
She's too funny! I hope you show us what you come up with!

And you are REALLY, REALLY good at the face painting!!
Zoe looks adorable! Does this face paint wash off easily? I would be worried that the green wouldn't come off!
I tried leaving a comment three times yesterday and the page only refreshed. I think Blogger was down last night for a bit because there was another blog that I tried to leave a comment and it didn't post either.
Josh looks fierce like Hulk. I can tell that he was really into his superhero character.
They look adorable! You have quite the face painting talent there. I love how what she wanted to be shifted. Cute.
Adorable...and great job with the face painting (not an easy feat, I know! ;D)
And we've got the same 'little sis wants to do and be everything the same as big bro' syndrome going on here *sigh* Cute at times, helpful at others...but mostly...exhausting!
Your sons hair went perfectly with the Hulk character...too cute! Can't wait to start doing that w/my infant...
Wow!! You are really talented. Both of your kids look amazing. And yes. My Diego always wants what Nino has or is. I think it's a little brother/sister complex. You are so smart to pick your battles. Superheroes all around!!
