It’s Friday again and time for some fix-it fun over at iheartfaces. This week we have this photo to work on.
I love how sweet this photo is. I love the sweet mommy/son moment.
Unless I’m wrong, it looks like this photo is one of those self-shoot ones where you stretch out your arm, point your phone/camera back at yourself, and pray that you’re in focus somehow…. (that's what I do!). No problem with focus in this shot, but I am not super in love with the angle. So the first thing I did was to rotate the photo back to an angle that I like more. And because I haven’t learned how to “free transform” in CS4 without having the newly “transformed” image slapped right on top of the original with bits of the original image showing through, I had to crop and then clone in parts of the newly transformed image over the parts where the original image are visible. (If anybody can share with me an easier way, I would be most grateful!)
After that was done, then it was on to the fun bits. Sharpen. Adjustments to levels, curves, and H&S. Used spot healing tool to take out a couple of spots. Added lens flare at the bottom left of the image to sort of balance out the brightness a bit on that side of the image. I then applied the CoffeeShop Sun-Kissed action and PW’s Warmer action, but significantly dialled down the opacity.
Fix-It # 2 (Added PW’s Colorized action to Fix-It #1)
Please head on over to iheartfaces and check out the other Fix-It’s.

Awesome!!!
I really like #2, nice vintage look! Very nice! Also love PW Actions, some of the best out there, that's for sure!
fun! - I like the straightened composition :-)
Nice job!
Regarding your question about free transform, are you flattening your image before tilting the image? I find a similar thing happens if I don't first merge layers. Then I make the background a layer (by double clicking on it). Then I can free transform without issue. Hope that helps!
Great Fix-Its again! Have a wonderful weekend my friend!
Hugs,

love them as I always love your work!

You are so so good at this! I thnk I need a lesson:)
I love how you edited that photo. I think I like the first one better. I sure wish I had photo shop.

I love how you edited it!! And yes, that first angle was kinda weird! LOL
Great job! I really like fix #1.

Wow!! You did an amazing job on these. The color in the first picture is so brilliant. It sounds like a lot of work done to change the angle, and it looks like that was how it was originally taken, very impressive!
It does like a self portrait photo because the mom's arm is extended out. I like fix #2, love the color contrast.
Nice work!! I love the last one--muted but bright. Is that even possible? I don't know, but I love the look. :o)
Always fascinating to see the differences.
