One of our favorite noodle places here… Ajisen.
Check out this big bowl of noodles (and the ladle/spoon)! This was the Sumo Noodles, I think. The “toppings” on this were half of a boiled egg, some slices of barbecued pork, ebi tempura, some fancy fish cakes, chives, corn, a little tofu “pouch” filled with some sticky, chewy cake of sorts. All these on a bed of noodles steeped in a flavorful pork broth.

That looks really good! I guess the closest thing we have to that here is Pho. Which probably is nothing like that, but it doesn't consist of noodles n' stuff. :P
Sounds tasty! Their logo is so cute!
Yummy! Yummy! Yummy! That looks fabulous!

Ok... I totally don't know if I can say I think that looks yummy. It is SO far from my norm... and I don't see any noodles!
That said, I would be willing to give it a try. It sure is colorful (probably flavorful too).
You post the yummiest dishes. Thank you. (It's midnight and now I'm hungry. To the fridge I go.)
:)
Now THAT is my kind of meal! Yummmmm. What are the pink swirly things?
that all looks so tasty!
That looks so tasty and perfect for a rainy day :D
@Alicia and Cecily - Those white stuff with the swirly things are like fish cakes (flattened fish patties decorated with food coloring, I think).
That looks so amazing..I want to come there and eat everything I can get my hands on..LOL
that looks unique! love different stuff like this.
I don't know if it looks more pretty than yummy. I'd almost hate to eat it.
The pink and white make it look really festive.
Oh my gosh, YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, now that looks really different. That's not the really hot stuff is it? Hmmmm Looks good! Following you,.
Yummy Yummy for my tummy!!!
That looks, REALLY, REALLY good! I don't think there's a Japanese noodle house in my city. We have a lot of Japanese restaurants that serve some sort of udons but not noodles.
The presentation is so beautiful and appealing!
YUM! I would love to try that. I just love the beautiful presentation.
Best wishes,
Natasha.
That looks yummy! Jealous I am.
Looks good but I would never eat that stuff!
Looks good but I would never eat that stuff!
that does look yummy!
Looks yummy.
When we were back in Singapore, there was an Ajisen branch in the basement of the nearby Junction 8 mall. We enjoyed going there, but it is rather pricey for noodles. When we moved to Bangkok, wow! Cheap and good ramen everywhere: from the ubiquitous Hachi-ban chain (http://www.thaihachiban.com/) to authentic Ton Chin Kan down the street to the superb Yamagishi (http://whitelephant.wordpress.com/food/reviews/review-ramen/) at K-Village... farewell, Ajisen!
Wow, my boys would love that.
I've never seen a dish like this before. My hubby would dive right in, he loves stuff like this.
OOOOO when i make noodles soup I add egg and fresh fish along with other things I have on hand like mushrooms...so basically I am totally jealous of your sumo size amazing looking soup!
Looks REALLY tasty!
Great picture! Is that swirled thing a fancy fish cake?
Mmmmmmmm! I love noodle bowls.
That looks delicious!
That is one massive dish of noodles!
