I talked about our blueberry-picking experience in yesterday’s post, but I don’t want to leave you with the impression that it’s all just blueberries…
Overall, it was a really fun experience for all of us. Josh wanted to go back the very next day! The farm offers a lot more than just blueberry-picking, for adults and children alike. There’s the U-pick part, the scrumptious baked goods, the yummy shakes, the fresh produce they sell at their stores (along with other natural products), the petting zoo, and even a children’s play area. Definitely a great place for family fun.
Why do we always end up picking blueberries when we could have also picked strawberries or raspberries?
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone! With blueberries, there is no need to bend down low the way you’d have to with strawberries. Blueberries are perfect for children and grown-ups alike. The children pick from the lower branches, while the adults tackle the higher ones. Blueberry plants (bushes?) don’t have thorns the way raspberries do. Blueberries are also less fragile and we don’t have to worry about little fingers squishing the fruits when they pick them off.
