Street Photo

.
I love taking pictures of street vendors, of random street scenes.  I’ll be perfectly happy wandering the streets taking random shots here and there.  I like to pretend that I have a big professional camera around my neck (with a cool camera strap, please) and I go walking around urban scenes snapping away –even though people often just mistake me for a tourist with my point-and-shoot!

Old lady

This photo was taken when we took a hike around Lamma Island.  The vendor agreed to let me take her picture, but she didn’t want to show her face.  A pity.  She has just the kind of face that begs to be photographed… with interesting lines, full of character.  Much as I love taking pictures of my children, I absolutely love taking pictures of seniors.  Their faces and eyes have such stories to tell.

Great photo of this woman...yes you can kind of see her smile. I love seniors too. I visit the nursing home quite often and love talking with them. They have a beauty that is all their own.

She was begging for her photograph to be taken. Great captures. Reminds me that I meant to get my B&W photos ready tonight. I gotta catch up!

Is Lamma Island near HK? I love talking and being around seniors. Their life stories are never boring and their wisdoms are timeless.

it's very intriguing.

Awesome conversion. The texture and depth is awesome. It doesn't matter what kind of camera you have. It's know how to use what you have, and you really know how to use your P&S. Beautiful work.

Your b&w wed. photo is phenomenal. I mean AMAZING. I love it! I had a couple seconds to scroll thru some of your other posts...fantastic work! You composition and processing are wonderful. Ummmm.... don't scroll back toooo far in my blog, I've known how to use my camera for less than a year. :-) You might not be too impressed with what you see - ha! Well, always learning. :-) Have a wonderful day! ♥

Jenny said...

Great picture. With her face hidden, we can each add the details of her life etched in her face...thanks for the chance to use my imagination.

Xmas Dolly said...

Love both pics. First one catches your eye because of the fabulous colors especially her, and the other hides that color, and actually tells the story. Very interesting. Thanks for sharing.

That is a great photo. I sometimes see people that make me wish I had a camera with me, I never think of it. But them I'm not a very good photographer anyway. Not even with a point and shoot.
