Endless Questions… That’s Good, Right?

What is one good thing about having to roll out of bed at 6am?

Sunrise
This.

It seems like Zoë is getting chattier by the day.  The questions have been endless and have been coming during the most unexpected of times.  Like right smack in the middle of her soccer class.  She ran across the gym to where I was sitting and asked, “Mommy, what do snails eat?”  Like it was the most important question in the world and needed to be answered right then and there.

In the car, piping up from behind me as I was driving her to soccer class, “Mommy, what happens if you cut off the ears?

At bedtime.  Long after Josh has drifted off, Zoë would still be chatting in bed and asking questions left and right.  An answer to a question would generally lead to another question and another and another before I’d get an “Oh.”  Tonight she asked, “Why does a statue not move?  What is a statue made of?

And then there are these…
How many pointy thingies are there in a star?
What happens if the car has no wheels?
Why is God good?
What happens if you press this bell (the emergency button in our elevator)?
Why can’t we swim here (a fountain)?
Why did Ah Kung die?
How do germs get in our body?
What does the yellow (traffic) light mean?
What is this called?
What does [insert word] mean?
And many, many more.
school-zoe1 Our happy K1 kid, Her Royal Chattiness!

Oh, did I mention how much
she makes me smile
and laugh
and sigh
and shake my head in wonder and disbelief?
She keeps me on my toes
every day.
And did I already say that I love this kid?
I. LOVE. THIS. KID.

Your post is so sweet...little kids and the endless questions, makes me laugh at the zillions of questions I've been asked by my kids that have really hard answers to.

Love this, dear! Such a cute post. I know that "question asking" stage well...:)

This is so cute! I think her and Myles should hang out they would come up with so many more questions between the two of them and maybe they could answer a few for us LOL. It really is amazing how inquisitive they get about the world and everything around us. It is so apparent how much your children are loved by you and that is so wonderful!

That is why I loved teaching the 3,4 and 5 year olds in my Montessori classroom, they are so ready to learn it all. The million and one random out of the blue questions could always make me smile.

By the way, lock your doors now, you got a little cutie on your hands =)

HAHAHAHAHA. We haven't hit the Question Phase yet, but Ming Wai DOES talk our ears off. It just doesn't make as much sense as a series of questions. ;-)

............and what a precious doll Her Royal Chattiness is! I love the questions out of little ones. "Why do fish gotta swim?" etc. are the most important questions in the world. (At the time) Loved the school pic, Miss Zoe looks very, very happy to be in school.

Ya'll have a beautifully blessed day! :o)

We instituted a quiet hour where the kids read in the rooms, by themselves. It's usually on the weekends we do this but it gives us a break from the many questions....many, many questions!

I would definitely get up for that sunrise!

What a cute pic! The picture of the sunrise was beautiful. I laughed at the questions. They do ask a lot, don't they? I can't tell you how many times I have to look up the answers or just say, "uhm, just because".

Too cute! I was totally just thinking about all the questions my kids ask me, today. So many questions and so many that I have no idea how to answer.
