iheartfaces – Week # 37 | Choo Choo (er, Vroom Vroom)

This week’s theme at I Heart Faces is “Vroom Vroom”: Adding a vehicle to a portrait session is a fun way to mix things up a bit!  This week’s entry should have some kind of vehicle in it (any form of transportation or even a toy!) AND a face.

So I’m taking the “any form of transportation” and running with it… I couldn’t find any good car pics, so my entry this week is

Not “vroom vroom,” but CHOO CHOO!miniature-train

One of the highlights for the kids (and for us, too) this summer was riding this miniature train at the Burnaby Confederation Park.  It’s really tiny and you actually straddle a small bench, as opposed to sitting comfortably in a seat as the train makes its way down the tracks.  It was such a treat for Josh and Zoë to see actual trestles, switches, and tunnels throughout the ride and a couple of times, our train went on a bridge that goes over another piece of track.  Because there were more than one train operating, sometimes we had to stop at a switch and let another train pass… just like a real working railway!

For more “Vroom Vroom” entries, please head on to iheartfaces.

I always think it is so funny to see adults driving these little trains.

Love the perspective and processing! Still trying to decide if that's a "Man, I'm having a BLAST!" face or not.... NOT! ha... the pics we find for these contests. For the record, hubs is blissfully unaware that his attempt to ride a clown bike is now being viewed by hundreds of people. Shhhhh...... if you don't tell, I won't; pinky promise!

I think this shot absolutely fits the theme. I used to ride the train as a kid and loved it. I was always so sad to see one of the train stations disappear though...so much fun!

I always love these little Choo-choos and will grab any child so I can ride one. Heeehehehe, always with permission of course, I'm just that kinda chick.

When my sis was little mom let her ride one of these at a local festival. The dang thing jumped the tracks and flung out into the midway. Ya could hear my moms shrieks from miles away. My sis and trains now...not so much! :o)

God bless ya sweetie and have a beautiful day!!!

So cute! When we moved to Wisconsin the big news was the train crash. We tried not to laugh when we saw that the crash occured on the mini train at the zoo. The injured were being carried off on stretchers often bigger than the train car they were riding, and then the zoo workers lifted the little cars back on to the train. :-)

Hi! Following you from the Nestwork! I was just browsing through your site! Beautiful photographs!

I was interested in your certification in Baby Signs -- is that special coursework you took?

Thanks! Stacie

What fun! I love that it worked like a real railway with the switches and all. It looks almost like a little toy train.
