I bought Zoë this book: Dress-Up Dolls | Pretty Princesses.
I knew it’d be a hit with her.
There were two press-out princesses and over 50 press-out pieces of clothing and accessories, with a handy pocket in the inside back cover to store all the loose pieces when done.
Aren’t the colors just lovely?
I punched out all the pieces for Zoë and she just went to town. She spent the next hour or so playing with them. First, she systematically grouped the different outfits in piles –dresses, pants, bags, shoes, etc., before putting different outfits on the princesses. (I was rather impressed that she did that without being asked to do so!)
She then pretty much occupied herself with dressing up both princesses for almost an hour –coming up to me occasionally to ask for help or if I thought a princess looked pretty with a particular tiara or if the other princess would look better with a ball gown or a riding outfit.
Watching Zoë play with paper dolls just made me feel all mushy inside. I wonder how long her fascination with all things princess will last… and let’s see how long I can keep her away from Barbie and Bratz. (Hopefully for a long, long, long, long time!)
Did you play with paper dolls?

Awww! You just reminded me of how much I loved paper dolls. Are those the kind that just automatically stick? She totally looks mesmerized!
Oh how sweet! We haven't had paper dolls for a while, might have to track some down!
Oh I DID - and I loved them! The ones I cut out from magazines sucked because no matter how I tried to glue them to a sturdy backing, they just broke... The sturdier ones you could buy was magnificent though, I could play with them for hours at a certain age. I made my own too, ah - nostalgia! :-)
I loved paper dolls - they kept me busy for hours! Such beautiful photos of your little one!!
I'm so glad paper dolls are still around because I loved them as a kid and would love my little girl to play with them as well someday! Zoe looks pretty entertained :)
Fun and nostalgic! Love your pics!
This is the first time i am seeing paper dolls. They look very neat and interesting.
That sure brings back some memories for me! Yes...I played with paper dolls a lot! Looks like Zoe is having the time of her life!
Super cute!! Love your textures! What did you use, if you don't mind me asking! (I wish I had lil' girls to play paperdolls with!)

I did! My oldest girl did and you know what? I forgot about them for my youngest. Don't worry...She is only 4 ~ we have time...I'm going to the closet now to see what we saved. THANKS!!!
Beautiful Post!
Love that first image with the toes. All things princess. Hmmm. My little niece would love this. Me, I was too busy playing with trucks and baseballs to give those paperdolls much chance. I think I missed out on something lovely.
So so sweet!
I totally love paper dolls to this day! Soooo fun!
It is lovely to see that children still play with these :)
Oh, that is so cute! I love that first shot where she uses her feet as well. Clever girl! I still have my paperdolls in a big bag at my parents' house. Loved them but my girls haven't really taken to the paperdolls.

Looks fun!! My girls love this sort of thing too. :)
Those pictures are just precious! I'm pretty sure paper dolls will become paper balls in my little girl's hands, but maybe someday.
Sweet photos!!
These are precious photos. One of my girls used to LOVE paper dolls. I wish I had photos like this of her.
So cute!
I used to play with paper dolls and I loved them.
That is fantastic. I remember the same type of dolls when I was a kid. They were always so much fun! I want to thank you for stopping by my blog. I truly appreciate your comments. Thank you.
