With Curls

I’d been braiding Zoë’s hair lately.  Sometimes I’d braid portions of her hair and then tie everything back into one ponytail.  If we’re in a hurry, I’d just make two small braids before pulling back the rest of the hair together in a ponytail.  But sometimes she’d sit patiently and let me put several small braids in.  {One of the many reasons I love having a daughter!}   At the end of the day, before her bath, we’d take out the braids and this is what she’d look like…

Curly-hair

The streaks that you see on her hair are natural, okay?  We didn’t put highlights in.  I need to point that out because I was asked by someone once about the name of the color we used to dye Josh’s hair (!).   For some reason, both her hair and Josh’s hair are much lighter than Chris’ or mine, although Josh’s hair has gotten a bit darker now that he’s older.

Curly-hair-1

I prefer her hair straight rather than curly, but I think she’s sweet either way!

that was one of the reasons I wanted a daughter (besides the fun clothes) but just boys for me! Zoe is sweet no matter how her hair is! I used to braid mine when younger while wet to get this curly look, it was a fun way, without curlers that hurt, LOL! ~Faythe~ Bad eggs

She is absolutely precious. You never can tell about higlights these days as so many women artificially streak their hair. I saw a young pregnant woman who could have been between 15-30 judging by her face. Her dark hair had been heavily streaked silvery white. She was with an older woman whose braided hair appeared to be naturally streaked with highlights tending towards silvery white, but seemed she had a rinse trying to cover it. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why the younger one would do that to her hair when the older one seemed to be trying to do just the opposite. Give her a few more years and she'll be wishing she still had the dark hair of her youth :)

My 4 year old daughter has super curly hair and people ask us all the time if it's "natural"... like we'd perm it or something?! Love the highlights!

She is adorable - I remember when my mom did the same hair do for me! :-)

She is stunning. With or without curls. I just love my girls straight black hair too but there is something special about curls if you ask them. They always want curls when it's time for a party or other festivities.

So sweet. I often braid pokey's hair at night and then let it down the next day. She likes wearing it wavy. Thanks for stopping by!

awww!! so cute!!!! we used to that when i was still a child :)

When I was a kid, that was the only way my hair would have any semblance of a curl, haha. And my husband's hair is coarse, thick, and super straight. Somehow, our daughter has one curl. That's all, one little curl that bounces on the back of her hair. I'm afraid of cutting and then it will be gone! Now that her hair is longer, it doesn't show as much either. *sniff*

Zoe is beautiful! Curls or no curls, your little girl looks sweet as ca be.

love the curls! A's hair is pin straight...she did cheerleading for a year and their team had to have curls in their hair, so I had to use something fairly close to super glue to make the curls stick. she hated it and has forever sworn off curls (and cheerleading, which I'm OK with!)

Zoe is so cute, I recall our daughters you to get lighter streaks in their hair from the sun. I loved both her birthday cakes, looks like the little lady had a wonderful time celebrating her Birthday.

It is sweet either way; she is just darling. :)

By the way, I've been using Live Writer and it helps with the photos, so thank you! (Although when I post draft to Blogger, my spacing goes to all single spacing, so I still have to figure that out.) Anyway, I appreciate the help!

She is super sweet. Lorelei has been letting me braid her hair lately too, although her hair isn't quite long enough for a nice braid (or I'm just not that great at it yet.) You have a beautiful daughter! Oh, and my youngest has almost blond hair and my husband has black while I have brown so I hear questions on where she gets her hair from.

Helene said...

Her hair looks so adorable!!! Bella likes for me to braid her hair too and then she likes to wear it wavy like that!!!!
