Dinner at Sabah

A rare dinner out midweek found me and Chris at Sabah, a restaurant in Wanchai that serves Malaysian and other southeast Asian food.  It’s been years since I’d last been there, but the food is as good as I last remembered it.

With just the two of us, it’s hard to order a lot, so we ended up with the following “staples”:

Roti canai

Roti-canai

Curry sauce for dipping

Curry-sauce

My favorite – green curry!Green-curry

Kangkong with belachan (Water spinach with shrimp paste)Kangkong-with-belachan

For dessert – iced cendol

Iced-chendol

After dinner, this was what greeted us on the way home…
Rush-hour-traffic---bw

Bumper-to-bumper traffic, but it’s not as bad as it looks here.  Things do move along and we’re usually clear of this patch in 5-10 minutes and then it’s the expressway.

How is your week shaping up?

I love Green Curry too!!.. It's next on my "learn how to cook" list . We have more Thai restaurants here so it's easier to get such foods to eat.. Your food photo pics make me so hungry looking at them.

You know, I think we could do lunch together. The food looks good. I had to go and look things up so thanks for the links. I prefer chocolate mostly but would give iced cendol a try.

I love the black and white...what a beautiful shot of your city.
