Scavenger Hunt Sunday | Architecture

1.  {Architecture} – There was a Lego exhibit at Cityplaza over the Easter weekend.  It was pretty amazing to see all the “landmarks” from different countries.  This one here is of a windmill in The Netherlands.  There were also the Sydney Opera House, the pyramids in Egypt, Tiananmen Square, the Taj Mahal, the castles in Germany, London Bridge, the Eiffel Tower, etc.  It was quite amazing to see all these landmarks made out of Lego pieces.

2.  {Rimmed with Light} – This had me stumped.  I wasn’t sure how I was going to do this.  BUT… we went to the beach on Easter Monday and there was this ring of light around the noon day sun.  We were all baffled as to what it was.  I’ve never seen such a thing before.  I tried to take more photos of it, but this was the only one that turned out.  The camera just wouldn’t click, no matter what setting I’d put it on.  Maybe it was too bright?  Or maybe I had the wrong settings…?  Also, what is this ring?  Does anyone know?  I am very curious!

(Edit:  It’s a “sun dog.”  Thanks, Rosie!)

3.  {Toes or Feet}

4.  {This Is My Favorite} shot from the beach that day… one of my many favorites!

5.  {Shades} – My cool little dude.

You are an amazing photographer. I love the ring of light but have no idea what it is. I'm as stumped as you. And legos! Ever since Tina blogged about her experiences in Legoland (did you see the posts?) I've been itching to go see some lego constructions. You've just wet my appetite even more

Great shots. I saw a ring around the moon that looked just like that a few months ago. I wasn't sure what it meant either.

Oh these are great - I always wanted to go to the real lego land in Europe - I brought my kids up on lego and I loved it aswell.

Guess what I know exactly what you saw - a phantom sun or sundog when this halo shows in the sky!

LOVE your shots! The lego is sooo amazing! I'd love to see a display like that! And seriously? Warm enough to go in a swimsuit in the beach? I'll be right over.

This is amazing and the sun ring is so cool. Did you ever find out what it was. I should Google it...hold on...

a ring around the sun is caused by ice crystals within thin cirrus clouds.

I thought there was going to be some mystical explanation, but who am I kidding. LOL

I've never seen a ring like that before either. It's definitely different. The lego display is definitely neat! I know my son would enjoy it as much as I would!

I have been blessed to view a moon dog before but didn't gain a picture. What a shot!

I remember takin' my youngens to a Lego exhibition on a trip to the city. Amazin' what they can do with those little blocks!!!

Your pictures always amaze me girl! They are always fantastic!!!

God bless ya and have an extraordinary day! :o)

Lovely pics, especially the beach shots! My hubby chimed in though, "Sun dog? That's a solar halo. It probably rained somewhere or later that day."
