I Heart Faces | From a Distance

It was almost 6:00pm on a Saturday and these dragon boat teams were still hard at work, practicing for the big race on Monday, when we celebrate the Tuen Ng Festival (端午节).  During the 10 minutes or so that Chris and I were there, these teams did at least three mini-races –paddling from shore to the starting line, then furiously racing back to shore to the beat of the drums.


We are still not sure about braving the crowds to go watch the actual races.  It’s going to be exciting, for sure;  there’s always a party atmosphere during the races.  But it’s also going to be super hot and super crowded.  Somehow the idea of being somewhere air-conditioned appeals to me more…
