Standing Still

Sometimes life seems to just flash by.
Everything is just boom-boom-boom, let’s-go, next!
Most days, that’s me.
That’s part of the reason why I love Hong Kong,
where everything moves at a frenetic pace, it seems.
I like that. I like efficiency.
But
Sometimes we just need to stand still…
and feel.

I'd love to visit HK and experience its wonderful "chaos".

My brother lived in Hong Kong for years as his home base as an international pilot. Beautiful photo!

I know what you mean. I love busy, bustling, colourful, high-tech Hong Kong too, but every now and then we do need a little peace and quiet, and some time for reflection. And talking of reflection, I love the train photo with your real, physical reflection in the glass: it's a nice portrait capturing you doing what you love to do. All the best, Bonny

Years ago I had a short vacation in Hong Kong. It's such an interesting place with the hustle around you then such peacefulness when you're in the park on a beautiful morning.

Great shot-even in standing still you have movement.

Excellent thought...I am retired now but even in retirement the time still seems to zoom by. I keep telling myself just enjoy and savor the speeding time. Great post and love the photo. :)

What a fascinating photo! And you are so right: we do need to stop and stand still from time to time. Probably more often than we admit or take time for.

Movement is so difficult to capture on film. You did an amazing job! Thanks for sharing in the Texture Twist!

Wonderful reflection. I was in Hong Kong in 1961. The pace was fast then, too. However, I probably would not recognize the Hong Kong of today.

Yes, efficiency certainly has its place, but we all need to have a little bit slower pace sometimes.

Wow! Love all the things going on here. The color, the movement, the reflection, the angle. Needs say more? Love it.

Yes, I believe we all have difficulty staying still and just breathing! I love your photo. It really captures your words perfectly.
