I love red. This time of the year, we see lots of red about –not only because of Valentine’s Day, but also because of Chinese New Year. I haven’t really had a chance to go out and take pictures this last week, though, what with all the activities the kids have. So all I have at this point is an image of my potted poinsettia, leftover from Christmas. I usually love my poinsettias red, all red, but this time, I’d opted for one in varying shades.

Please head on over and visit with Pam (her blog) to check out her RED images and then follow on through to the next one in our circle. Once you are done visiting our circle, please check out our Facebook page and share your interpretation of our theme!

I do love a pop of red in the winter, too!
My daughter spoke of how colorful New Years was in Japan during her stay. Your poinsettia is beautiful.
This flower is funky and fabulous! I love it. A perfect splash of red!
I like to paint with red too - and am a lover of the poinsettia (any color).
Red is a great color and this flower looks very vibrant :-)

I love the red of Chinese new year! Just decorated my pussy willow tree in all red : )
Wow! Good job on keeping the poinsettia alive this long! Mine are almost always red to go out the door right after Christmas!
I usually go with traditional red too, but this is unusual and very pretty.
Wow love the splash of bold red...
You wouldn't have even needed to do a post--your header has so many red pops! I love the splashes of variation in your poinsettia.
Love the colour and wishing you all the best for the next year.
One of my fave flowers - I am jealous you got one still alive ! It's now a LOVE plant too :)
Great poinsettia - mine are still ok too, I picked them from the bargain shelf and have been "nursing" them back to health. Hopefully they'll last a while longer yet :) #lifethruthelens
I love red and I love this!
Wonderful photo. They used to grow as weeds in our backyard in Los Angeles. The all red variety. But, they are beautiful.
Red is one of my favorite colors too. Like how you captured the center details! Funny though, this year we ended up getting white poinsettas. Ha! Have a pair of glossy red rain/winter boots. Easy on easy off - love them.
and yet, the splash of red makes it even better. lovely capture.
Nice shot!
Wow, I can't believe your poinsettia is still alive, and beautiful. I do not have good luck with them lasting past December. I like the natural texture in this shot from the leaves.
