At Night II

We had been making a few trips to the airport --pick-ups, send-offs.  All of them at night. As I'd mentioned before, I don't really go out that much at night anymore and on these recent nights out, I felt like a little girl allowed to stay out late.  It was nice to see the city lights against the black velvet backdrop of the night sky.  Hong Kong, on any ordinary day, is ablaze with lights at night.  Around Christmas and Chinese New Year, there are even more lights than usual.   The photo below was taken around 11:30 pm last night.  See how bright it still was?  This wasn't even in the city proper.

It's a bit of a challenge to take pics through the windshield of a vehicle driving down the highway (don't worry, I wasn't at the wheel!).  I love the slightly off focus, though, and the light drizzle kinda added to the overall mood.

I rarely go out at night. Definitely nowhere as often as when we were single and without kids yet.  Even when I do, I don't usually get to leisurely enjoy the city.  Well, I got a chance to do so last week, when I played tour guide to a visiting relative.  It's the same Hong Kong, but in a different light, with a different vibe.  I love it.

18 January 2017

Hello, hello, hello!  Sorry for being MIA for over a month.  We'd been away for the Christmas holidays, then we had my parents and my mother-in-law visiting.  I have two birthdays to prepare for.  Endless errands.  You know, life.

I did manage to take my little miss last Saturday to catch one the last few screenings of "Sing."  Afterward, we decided to run a couple of errands.  We had to brave through a throng of people  in Causeway Bay.  There always is a lot of people in that area, but I guess it being a Saturday, with Chinese New Year just around the corner, there is a much bigger crowd than normal.  Oh my word.
