w e d n e s d a y... and a koala!

This little creature below was one of the highlights of our trip to Australia last Christmas. Even before we left for the trip, the kids were all about 'cuddling a koala.'  We just had to make sure that that was part of our itinerary.

What I love about how this experience was handled is that at the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, they take care to educate the public about koalas, their care, their habitat, etc. It's not just a money-making photo op scheme.  The children came away with some basic knowledge about koalas beyond simply an experience of having cuddled one.

Hi Buckeroo. How fun to have seen one of these little guys up close and even a cuddle. Great memory for your little ones. I saw on my comments that you no longer have photo software. I'm sure you probably know about some free ones like PicMonkey, Picasa and others. I've not tried PicMonkey but I like Picasa. They say PicMonkey does a lot of things like Adobe. Thanks for visiting and linking. Always happy to see you there and it reminds me to come on Wednesday so I can link up. Have a great week.

Oops, I may be wrong. Just looked and guess PicMonkey is now a free trial and then pay. I should have looked first before my comment about it. ~hugs 'n giggles 'n scribbles~

I so glad your kids got to see a koala up close. Did they also see our other unique wildlife like kangaroos and emus? Happy travels.

cute little thing, we visited Australia quite a few years ago and went to see a koala sanctuary. I don't think I'd pick one up though.

You got a great shot of a koala. I've tried at the zoo and it seems they are always hiding or in shadows. I'm sure your kids were thrilled with their koala visit!
