w e d n e s d a y.... HOT!

Summer is really here!  I can feel it.   It's been unbearably hot, hot, hot these last few days. School is winding down, yet there's still so much going on, so much to do.

I watched "Screenagers" with both kids last night.  If you have children who love screens and you are looking for insights and good talking points with them about responsible usage, this is a good place to start.  We had a good discussion with the kids after the screening and it's going to be a continuing dialogue as we navigate through this interesting, interesting area. We didn't have as much (or any!) access to screens as our kids do these days, but this is the new reality; we are living in the electronic age. The trick is to find that balance between knowing your way around tech and using tech responsibly.

Not sure what screenagers is, but so true on it's a new world. Our last child was young just when the world of windows computers was erupting and dial-up internet. She got her computer young, and it was because I knew she would have to be tech savy come the future. She was monitored though and knew it was a privilege once she learned it was a privilege. Back in her day, the tech world was a computer and a pager. Her thrill of a phone was a cordless. The tech world sure has taken off. Sounds like you're on the right track with discussion, and even though you may not think kids are listening, I have learned after mine are now adults that they were even if they reacted at the time so discussion is a good thing.

How exquisite, we don't have anything like that here!

Great post! You can't fight technology and we live in a screen world, finding balance is important. Good for you for chatting about it with your kiddos.

Summer is here for us too... early even. We might hit 100 F which is way hot for this time of the year. Yuck.
